IYT YACHT MASTER COASTAL
 
Overview

The IYT Worldwide Yacht Master Coastal certificate is a recreational certificate of competency for sailing and power vessels.  It is a comprehensive live aboard course consisting of 6 days for sail or 5 days for power which includes the practical on water examination. We offer this as a 7 Day Course, including the Examination.

Certificate Limitations:
command of a vessel up to a maximum length of 78 ft /24 metres
in coastal waters up to 60 miles offshore
in moderate wind and sea conditions
not for commercial use

What are the minimum entry requirements to apply for the IYT Yacht Master Coastal course?

30 days and 800 miles at sea including 2 days as watch leader/skipper 
12 hours underway on watch at night

Minimum sea time must have been met prior to the final examination.

Please Note:

There are NO supplements for sole use of a double cabin, our policy is that single females and couples take priority and always get a cabin, thereafter it is on a 'first come' basis.

Flights & Holiday Insurance, fees relating to issuing the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). IYT Certificate (Credit Card style with photograph), Examination Fees.

IYT INTERNATIONAL CREW
 
This Course is a certificate of excellence for those candidates who wish to train to become an active crew member on an offshore Sailing Yacht.


7 Days living on board the yacht
6 days of Tuition.

Certificate Limitations:
•    Crew on a vessel up to a maximum length of 78 ft /24 metres
•    in coastal waters up to 20 miles offshore
•    in daylight hours and in fair conditions with moderate wind and sea conditions

It is the level of competence that someone needs when acting as watchkeeping crew on a yacht


Includes:

Accommodation on board the yacht, Tuition,food (Breakfast & Lunch), Bedding & Linen, fuel, mooring fees

Consider Novice to BareBoat Skipper

International Crew & Bareboat Skipper, includes VHF Radio in 14 Days

INTERNATIONAL BAREBOAT SKIPPER
 
This course is not for beginners and the recommended entry level requirements are holding the IYT International Crew or holding a VHF radio operators certificate, and to have logged over 200 nautical miles and 10 days at sea before advancing to this level. The recommended minimum age to obtain this certification is 18.  Passing this course qualifies you for the IYT International Certificate of Comptetence (ICC) which is available for all Nationalities.

This certificate is the level of competence that one needs when chartering a boat in the Mediterranean, Canary Islands or West Indies where there are restrictions in terms of cruising area and distance from the base and the vessel has to be safely moored in a marina or anchored before dark. In some locations, such as the Canary Islands, you also need the ICC (International Certificate of Competence).

INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE (ICC)

 
The ICC is a certified level of competency required when operating a pleasure craft in most European Coastal or Inland waterways.  Uniquely, IYT Worldwide has been approved by the MCA to issue ICC s to any qualified applicants of any nationality on their behalf in accordance with UN Resoltion 40.  


Club Sail Tenerife is authorized by IYT to offer ICC certification to its students.

IYT YACHT MASTER OFFSHORE
 
Overview

The IYT Worldwide Yacht Master Offshore certificate is a recreational certificate of competency for sailing and power vessels.  It is a comprehensive theory and live aboard course consisting of 5 days classroom theory and a practical component of 6 days for sail or 5 days for power including the practical on the water examination.

7 Days living aboard the Yacht with 5 Days Practical Tuition

Certificate Limitations:

command of a vessel up to 24 meters in length, less than 200 gross tons
up to 150 miles offshore 
not for commercial use
Note: Yacht Master Offshore is a recreational course that can be taught in any language BUT cannot be upgraded to the professional Master of Yachts certificate. 
 

Minimum entry requirements:


50 days on board a yacht at sea as an active crew member. 

Have logged 3,000 miles in a yacht while cruising at sea.

Thirty hours on watch at night underway as an active member of a yacht's crew. For at least six hours of this night time experience, the candidate must have been acting as the vessel's captain/watchleader.

A current medical examination and a colour blindness eyesight examination

A VHF Radio Operators licence.


12 Days Sailing/Theory Course with Examination (Examination Fee Not Included):  

 € 1600
