More RYA / MCA Yachtmaster successes!

In February we had 7 passes for RYA Yachtmaster Sail and 1 for the RYA Yachtmaster Motor. While this month we have had 2 passes so far. Well done all !

In March we have run one preparation week so far with another two later in the month.

Last year we held 49 RYA Yachtmaster preps, and it looks like it will be double that number this year.

Club Sail offers a comprehensive service which includes the following:

- Transfers from and to Tenerife South airport – no additional costs or waiting around for a taxi;
- Tuition from a Yachtmaster Instructor – we do not use instructors who have just qualified;
- Exam preparation from the Friday evening until the Wednesday, followed by the exam on the Wednesday evening and Thursday;
- All our courses are overseen by our Principle, Andrew Williams, himself a Yachtmaster Ocean Examiner for Sail and Motor;
- We ran Yachtmaster preparation and exam weeks last year for nearly 50 clients – and have had a 100% pass rate at Yachtmaster Offshore level over the last 5 years;
- The knowledge that we will not be running Competent Crew or Day Skipper courses on your boat the same week;
- We have a maximum of 3 clients doing the preparation and exam – so everyone gets the optimum amount of tuition;
- All our clients get their own cabin – no need to share, or sleep in the saloon like with some schools;
- Freshly laundered bedding and towels – no sleeping bags or any need to bring your own;
- Light weight waterproofs – just in case;
- Food and drink on board – including a gin and tonic or a beer after a days sailing.

The cost of the preparation week is EUR 725. We do not include: your flights, travel insurance, evening meals ashore or the MCA examination fee of £149 (Yachtmaster Coastal) or £170 (Yachtmaster Offshore) if you decide to take the examination. Please note that all other Examiners costs are included.

We can also offer you the opportunity to take the Sea Survival course while you are with us to do your Yachtmaster Prep. This one day course enables you to apply to the RYA to have your Yachtmaster MCA commercially endorsed. The cost of the Sea Survival course is only E250. The course normally takes place either on the Friday before or immediately after your course.
